Privacy Policy
Overview
Wright is an offline-first Android application. It does not connect to the internet, does not collect personal information, and does not transmit any data to external servers or third parties. Everything you create in Wright stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Wright does not collect any personal information. The app stores the following data locally on your device, in a private application folder:
- Your project types (their stages and sub-steps, and any wait periods you configure)
- Your projects (their stages, sub-steps, progress, status, notes, and any target date)
- Photos you attach to a project's stages, steps, or log
- App settings and preferences
None of this data is linked to your identity, uploaded anywhere, or shared with any third party.
How We Use Your Data
Data stored by Wright is used solely to operate the app's features on your device:
- Displaying your project types and the projects created from them
- Rolling up completion from sub-step to stage to project
- Scheduling local reminders for step wait periods and project target dates
- Restoring app state between sessions
Photos & Camera
Wright lets you attach photos to your projects. When you choose to add a photo, the app asks for permission to use your camera or to select an image from your photo library. Selected images are compressed and saved into Wright's private application folder on your device. Photos are never uploaded or shared by the app — they are only included if you choose to export your data with photos enabled (see below). Wright only accesses your camera or photo library at the moment you add a photo.
Notifications
Wright can schedule local reminders — for a step's wait period ending, or a project's target date. These are generated and delivered entirely on your device by Android's notification system; no reminder data leaves your phone, and no remote push service is used. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your Android system settings.
Export & Import
Wright includes an optional backup feature. You can export your data as a single JSON file through Android's standard share sheet, with an optional toggle to include your photos, and import a backup through Android's system file picker, which replaces your current data. Neither process routes data through any server — all file operations are local and on-device. You choose what you do with exported files.
Permissions Required
Wright requests only the permissions needed for features you actively use:
- Camera — only when you choose to take a photo of your project's progress
- Photos / media — only when you choose to attach an existing image from your library
- Notifications — used to deliver the local reminders you schedule for step waits and target dates. Required on Android 13 and later
- Storage Access Framework — used for the optional import and export features through the system file picker and share sheet; no broad storage permission is required
Photos you attach are copied into Wright's private application folder and are not shared with any third party. Wright does not request access to your contacts, location, or microphone.
Data Storage & Security
All app data, including attached photos, is stored in a private application folder that belongs to Wright and is not accessible to other apps. This data is removed when you uninstall Wright. If you have Android's built-in backup enabled, your device OS may back up app data to your Google account; this is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
Data Sharing
Wright does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or external APIs integrated into the app.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete all data stored by Wright at any time from within the app (Settings → Erase all data), by clearing the app's data in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → Wright → Storage → Clear Data), or by uninstalling the app.
Children's Privacy
Wright does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of Wright after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
