Provision

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026 App: Provision (Android) Developer: EnigmaMachineDev

Overview

Provision is an offline-first Android application. It does not connect to the internet, does not collect personal information, and does not transmit any data to external servers or third parties. Everything you create in Provision stays on your device.

Information We Collect

Provision does not collect any personal information. The app stores the following data locally on your device, in a private application folder:

  • Your categories (their names, order, and optional colors)
  • Your ingredients (names, the categories they belong to, tracking mode, on-hand quantity or availability, and restock settings)
  • Your prep templates and their current instances
  • Any manual shopping-list items you add
  • App settings and preferences

None of this data is linked to your identity, uploaded anywhere, or shared with any third party.

How We Use Your Data

Data stored by Provision is used solely to operate the app's features on your device:

  • Displaying your kitchen inventory by count or as available/unavailable staples
  • Deriving a shopping list from what is running low, unioned with your manual items
  • Rolling meal preps from whatever is currently in stock
  • Restoring app state between sessions

Export & Import

Provision includes optional export and import features. You can export a full backup as a JSON file, or export your inventory as a CSV file, through Android's standard share sheet. Importing a backup through Android's system file picker replaces your current data. Neither process routes data through any server — all file operations are local and on-device. You choose what you do with exported files.

Permissions Required

Provision requests only the access needed for features you actively use:

  • Storage Access Framework — used for the optional import and export features through the system file picker and share sheet; no broad storage permission is required

Provision does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, notifications, or any other sensitive system resource. It has no network access at all.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored in a private application folder that belongs to Provision and is not accessible to other apps. This data is removed when you uninstall Provision. If you have Android's built-in backup enabled, your device OS may back up app data to your Google account; this is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Data Sharing

Provision does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or external APIs integrated into the app.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete all data stored by Provision at any time from within the app (Settings → Erase all data), by clearing the app's data in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → Provision → Storage → Clear Data), or by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Provision does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of Provision after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
