Nourish

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026 App: Nourish (Android) Developer: EnigmaMachineDev

Overview

Nourish is an offline-first Android application. It does not connect to the internet, does not collect personal information, and does not transmit any data to external servers or third parties. Everything you record in Nourish stays on your device.

A Note on Scope

Nourish is a personal logging tool, not medical, nutritional, or safety advice. It ships with no built-in food knowledge — no suggested foods, no allergen list, no age gating — and it never enforces a schedule. The wait window it shows is purely informational: a countdown you configured, never a warning or an instruction. Your pediatrician decides; Nourish only records what you enter.

Information We Collect

Nourish does not collect any personal information. The app stores the following data locally on your device, in a private application folder:

  • The foods you add (their name, status, order in your queue, and when you introduced them)
  • Your observations (timestamped notes and the reaction tags you attach)
  • The food and observation tag systems you define yourself
  • App settings and preferences (your configured wait period and notification preference)

None of this data is linked to your identity, uploaded anywhere, or shared with any third party. Anything you record about your child stays on your device.

How We Use Your Data

Data stored by Nourish is used solely to operate the app's features on your device:

  • Displaying your foods, their status, and your observation history
  • Showing the informational wait-window countdown after an introduction
  • Calculating descriptive statistics over your own entries
  • Scheduling a single local reminder for when the wait period ends
  • Restoring app state between sessions

Notifications

Nourish schedules at most one local, on-device notification at a time — a neutral reminder that your configured wait period has ended. It is generated and delivered entirely on your device by Android's notification system; no reminder data leaves your phone, and no remote push service is used. The copy is descriptive only and never tells you a food is "safe" to introduce. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your Android system settings.

Export & Import

Nourish includes optional export and import features. You can export a full backup as a JSON file, or export your foods and your observations as CSV files, through Android's standard share sheet. Importing a backup through Android's system file picker replaces your current data. Neither process routes data through any server — all file operations are local and on-device. You choose what you do with exported files.

Permissions Required

Nourish requests only the access needed for features you actively use:

  • Notifications — used to deliver the single wait-window reminder. Required on Android 13 and later
  • Storage Access Framework — used for the optional import and export features through the system file picker and share sheet; no broad storage permission is required

Nourish does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, or any other sensitive system resource.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored in a private application folder that belongs to Nourish and is not accessible to other apps. This data is removed when you uninstall Nourish. If you have Android's built-in backup enabled, your device OS may back up app data to your Google account; this is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Data Sharing

Nourish does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or external APIs integrated into the app.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete all data stored by Nourish at any time from within the app (Settings → Erase all data), by clearing the app's data in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → Nourish → Storage → Clear Data), or by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

Nourish is used by a parent or caregiver to keep their own records. It does not knowingly collect any information from children, and it collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age. The records you keep about your child are stored only on your device.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of Nourish after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
