Privacy Policy
Overview
Auspex is an offline-first Android application. It does not connect to the internet, does not collect personal information, and does not transmit any data to external servers or third parties. Everything you create in Auspex stays on your device.
Information We Collect
Auspex does not collect any personal information. The app stores the following data locally on your device, in a private application folder:
- Your randomizers (their names and the full tree of options you build, including labels, weights, draw counts, colors, and notes)
- Your roll history (the results of past rolls and their settings, with timestamps)
- App settings and preferences (such as haptic feedback)
None of this data is linked to your identity, uploaded anywhere, or shared with any third party.
How We Use Your Data
Data stored by Auspex is used solely to operate the app's features on your device:
- Displaying and editing your randomizers and their decision-tree graphs
- Rolling a result and showing it as a path of options
- Saving and replaying your roll history
- Restoring app state between sessions
Export & Import
Auspex includes an optional export feature. You can export your data as a JSON file through Android's standard share sheet, and import one through Android's system file picker. Neither process routes data through any server — all file operations are local and on-device. You choose what you do with exported files.
Permissions Required
Auspex requests only what the operating system needs for the optional import and export features:
- Storage Access Framework — used for the optional import and export features. Android manages file access through the system file picker and share sheet; no broad storage permission is required
Auspex does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, or any other sensitive system resource.
Data Storage & Security
All app data is stored in a private application folder that belongs to Auspex and is not accessible to other apps. This data is removed when you uninstall Auspex. If you have Android's built-in backup enabled, your device OS may back up app data to your Google account; this is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
Data Sharing
Auspex does not share any data with third parties. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or external APIs integrated into the app.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete all data stored by Auspex at any time from within the app (Settings → Erase all data), by clearing the app's data in your Android settings (Settings → Apps → Auspex → Storage → Clear Data), or by uninstalling the app.
Children's Privacy
Auspex does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app collects no personal information from any user, regardless of age.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of Auspex after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
